    Downsizing Update

Hi everyone. I posted a little while ago about my need to downsize the daycare. I finally made the choices on which children to let go of. It was so hard to tell the families.

I choose to make the daycare a 2 years and older only daycare. That means that three 1 year olds have to find different care. Two of them are twins. The parents are being so good about it. I tried to explain as honest and straight forward as I could.

I have giving them till the first of the year to find someone new. They were grateful for that.

It was so hard! I know it is hard for them to have to start with a new daycare, but really it was important for my family to make these changes.

I think they are going to have a hard time finding someone that will work with what they need. They have twin one year olds, they only need 2 days a week, and they want to be able to pick those days weekly. It was so hard on me having a changing schedule every week.

I am glad things went well though. Still hard.

They will end up with a newbie provider who is desperate. As soon as she gets full or close to full they will be the first to go. That's one consequence of wanting a lot for a little. The only ones who will take it are the ones who will take a little because it's better than nothing at all.
