I check ID if I haven't met them before. I request a DL and Insurance card copy for the file in case of emergency. Some are uncomfortable with it and that's ok. I just let them know it's only in case of emergency to better serve your child with the fastest treatment and such. All documents are confidential and are shredded at the end of service as far as DL and Ins card copies go.

I've never asked for them at the interview. Is there something that's happened where the parents were not who they said they were?

I don't upon enrollment, but I do let the parents know that I will be checking ID of a person I've never met before if they are picking up a child. Some have had to go back into their cars for their IDs, but no one has ever been annoyed with it. They get that I'm doing this for the safety of the child.

        Long story short

I did an interview for a family

I find that the mother of the family is following me and the kids.

followed and parked infront of the park, library and my house. All on different days.
I freaked out, made a police report of it.

So far from the video, we now know that this woman was driving by on weekends, and even late at night week nights. Sometimes after 11pm. I have surveillance cams in front of my house.

when I met with the police to file the report, he told me that I should really consider chcking IDs of those people that I let in my house. He was saying how all stores have you either on camera or when you buy something they can track you within minutes.

I agree, i had a couple just show up because they saw my lawn signs, it was a slow day so i figured why not give them a tour, this might be the only chance to get them in....but i did check ID's i did have a wierd feeling about them, i had them sign in and all....but if i were to go back in time i probably would have made an appointment with them...actually i let them in also because they did mention the dr's office and another place i posted a flyer in....but who knows!!!!
