People really tic me off! I have a business in my home. If you set an appointment for an interview for child care, SHOW UP! If you do show up, BE ON TIME! You are just showing me what kind of a client you will be. Don't bother, I don't want your business. (How do you show really pissed on the computer?) You called me twice. Jerk.

After my short interview on the phone and the parents wants an interview I tell them THEY MUST CALL ME ONE HOUR before our interview, or I consider the interview cancelled. I tell them this again as i am ready to hang up.

MAN I hate that! I honestly don't get how some people can be so rude! My husband says I should really lower my expectations of people because I for some reason still believe people will do what they say! ha!
Oh, and for future reference.
Is that good?- Flag

I feel your pain. I have started telling parents to call me day of to confirm or let me know it for any reason they can't make it.. Although this would seem like common sense to me it obviously isn't as some people don't have common respect or courtesy. I have also told them my address info when they call to confirm so that I know they are coming for sure. This has worked with the last couple but I had several before that that were no shows, no calls..no email..no nothing! So rude- Flag

I'm sorry. I know that stinks. I'd say it happens only once in awhile at this point. I just clean up and prep like usually. My hubby watches the kiddos while we have the interview. If they don't show after 15 minutes, I go about my day as usual. If they do show late, I take the interview, but it's more of a practice interview....unless it's a REALLY good reason. If a no-show calls back and wants to reschedule, I don't.
I chalk it up to a really clean house, I usually get a little down time while I prepI like that anyway
.
Bum deal though. Try not to take it personal and try not to let it ruin your day. This sort of thing happens in a workplace outside of the home as well. It's them--not you
Have a much better afternoon!- Flag

Yep, happens all of the time. It happened to me too on Sunday. I have a DCB who's mom's job is transfering her to a location a few cities away so she's getting childcare closer to work, which I totally agree with. Unfortunately for me that means that my signs had to be posted again last week and another CL ad went up.
I had 2 interviews scheduled for Sunday. One at noon and one at 3pm. The nooner went great. I spent a little longer with the fam since there won't be a playdate interview (he's 6 weeks old). They'll be starting in December.
Now the second one however, sheesh. 3pm and no call no show. I even called on Saturday to confirm. I waited around until 3:15 then went next door to my BIL's house. I got a call that I ignored from the parent and a voicemail. "Hi, sorry I couldn't make it. Holiday shopping and it took longer than expected. I'm done now, wondering if we can do it now or reschedule it for another day" It was 6:30 when she called.
Thanks, I was sitting at home and making my family sit with me too (so that they can meet my family since they are a BIG part of DC) waiting for you when I could have left earlier had I known you wouldn't be here. She emailed me later that night too. Neither received an answer. You could have at least called me.- Flag
