    Home visits

So I am involved in a program where my licensor comes once a month for an hour or so and observes areas of my program. Wednesday will be my second visit and I don't know why but I get super nervous knowing someone will be here watching me. Also I will have a total of 6 kids here that day, the most I have ever had while having someone watch me. Two of the children will be under 1 yr old, my 9month old and a 6 wk old whos first day is tomorrow. To say I am stressed would be putting it mildly.

Do any of you have tips on how to settle the butterflies?

Can you tell a little more about the program? Is it required? Is licensor there as licensor or mentor?

They use a grading system to grade certain areas of your program and then come back a day or so later to discuss what they observed, suggestions on what to do to make it better, what your doing right, suggestions for things that might help your program. This is my second visit there is a total of 6 visits. After the 6 visits they will set up for me to have a display at a local business explaining my program and I will get a certificate in May for completion. Its not mandatory but it seemed like a good thing to do since I am just starting out and need some assistance setting up my program. I just get nervous and sometimes wonder if its worth the stress.

That sounds interesting and at least you know when she/he is coming. The kiddos seem to always act out when my licensing lady is here. Maybe plan extra activities that day to keep them involved?

My honest advice then, plan a super fun day, build forts or do a butcher paper mural or something. And if something crazy happens, USE HER. Ask, how do you suggest I handle this because I've tried several things and nothing works.

Good luck, I know it's not easy or fun to have observers in.
