NO
The whole idea that kids who use a piece of equipment for time out or trouble associate that piece of equipment with negative when it is used for it's intended purpose is completely MADE UP.
The minute for time out for each year of life of the child is MADE UP.
That's an adults view of it... has nothing to do with growth and development.
My puppies know the difference of when I put them in their kennel when they are being loud or naughty and when I'm putting them into their kennel for them to take a nap. Even DOGS know the difference.
Bottom line is kids don't want to go to bed for going to beds sake and they don't want to go to time out for time out sake. All they know is they are confined and away.
My dogs don't want to be kenneled whether it's nap time or quit woofing at the mail man time. They want OUT and to be with me.
Kids want out of bed and to be with adults... whether it's time out bed or go to bed bed.
It's not about the equipment... it's about the separation.
