IMO you have to protect yourself and your children. But I also feel an obligation to the general public.

If I found myself in that situation I would have pretended I heard nothing, not reacted to the language or to the man, and would have appeared to have 'found' what I needed in that aisle and left it. Then I would have marched straight to the customer service desk and reported him.

Not doing anything doesn't do anyone any service except to empower that man to misbehave in public again in the future. It fuels his ego and he thinks he's invincible. Who will be there next time he speaks out inappropriately and gets his anger? Will it be a sweet grandmother? A child? He needs to be checked.

This is a good point!! I noticed that too. I like to watch people. I'm not a freak or anything :: I mean at summer events, festivals, basketball court/playgrounds etc. Especially younger guys seem to get a puffier chest when someone backs down from them even verbally.

Next time I will keep my mouth shut and report immediately! Thanks everyone!
