the last 1/2 hour. Yes, we had troubles with the drain for the washer but that was eventually fixed. Not a bad day with childcare till 1/2 hour till the last one left.
This is the one that won't nap anymore and turns into this totally different child when this happens. My husband and own children can't stand being here anymore. The other day every daycare parent that came in couldn't even talk to me over the screaming of this child.
The child has been here a year and within the last month has turned into a total terror for me. Won't nap, hits, spits, kicked my bathroom door several times today, screams (I mean I'm afraid someone will call the police), cries over everything. Everything at home is the same and nothing has changed here. This happens in when the child becomes tired (almost delirous) but refuses to sleep. Parents want the child to sleep and we can't figure out what to do.
I have bought the black out curtains, soft music, outdoor play, you name it, I've done it. The child is seperated from the group but almost get more out of hand when that happens. If you say be quiet, shush, the child only gets louder.
Child is 3 1/2 almost 4. Arrives 7:30 and here till 4:30 or so. Won't lay down for a rest when they first get here (to much going on). Should be tired at 1:00 but not. Falling asleep in the car on the way home and then sleeps for about an hour. Won't fall back asleep till 9:00 or later.
Any ideas? Parents want child to nap (I know rare right) but child won't. She does nap on the weekends for at least two hours from 1:00-3:00. Deep down I really don't want to lose this child because I think if we could get this child back to napping things would be fine. They want a nap but not till 4:30/5:00 at night and then it screws the whole evening bedtime routine up.
I feel Michael should start a Nap thread for all the nap posts that have been going on lately!
