okay so I keep posting about what I am seeing in my local CL ads for daycare (the CL daycare section is very active in my area). I am seeing everything from $75 a week to $200 a week! Do you have that wide of a range of home daycare costs in your area? It didn't used to be like this.....

I see it in my area too. There are SAHM's that offer basically open hours for $20/day (you only pay for days you go) to specialty organic (from food to toys to furniture) dayhomes that charge $225/week. I fall in the middle category with a structured dayhome that serves whole foods and offers lots of outside time at $150/week.
Whenever I have to advertise I just make sure I have a very specific, detailed and confident ad that shows potential clients that I deserve the price I charge even before they know what it is. I would like to be able to charge $225 though. ::

Absolutely....And its very frustrating too.
There is a dc 2 streets away from me that charges $45 a day just for toddlers. My rates are way lower than hers. Hers are very high for our area.
Then I saw a cl ad from a really bad neighborhood. SAHM not licensed asking $10 an hour but "she understood people needed help financially and would work with them". Now thats ridiculous.
And others only charging $20 a day for drop ins. What?!
When people tell me they found a dc that was less expensive I always ask them if they visited that particular dc and if they were comfortable leaving their kids there!!!- Flag
