    Sharing

I really liked the "a day in the life" post so I thought I'd share my little cleverness (so I think) too.

I posted this on craigslist in response to local childcare providers advertising the "your baby can read" dvds as part of their program.

        Not one.

It's odd around here. I tried to take my whole philosophy out of it and posted a babysitter like ad on craigslist. What I provide, my experience, my hours, my prices, etc and got a ton of calls right away after not having had a call in a long time.

I was happy about getting calls but very discouraged about parents' response.

Thank you very much though, and blackcat too. It's really the support from other providers that keep me going and feeling like I'm not doing it all for nothing. It really does mean a lot.

That is so great. I might just have to borrow it--or at least the idea from it. And, this is getting bookmarked and going into my folder of stuff to read when I'm feeling down.
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

Beautiful website, I love it. Thank you for sharing it with us.

I bet a lot of us are going to steal bits and pieces of it.

                        I don't know about that.

Your baby can read is a lot more valuable in this society than care based and play based care.

Now if she would put your baby can read AND the stuff that she does.... playing in the dirt, reading books, etc. etc... and she offered that dirt cheap THEN it would be winner winner chicken dinner. ::

Exactly. I really did it as a sort of "vent" for myself. I shared it with other ece people and my friends and family but at that point I was preachin' to the choir.

I've struggled a lot with finding the balance for my business. My son says I haven't been as successful as I should because I "focus on the kids too much" Sounds ridiculous but I know what he meant and it's true.

Most grown ups don't see the beauty in these things as I do so my perspective is way off when advertising. I think they just see a mess, ...or children who are "just playing"
