    Milk Maid bottle holder

Does anybody have one of these they are willing to sell? I have another baby coming in 3 weeks. It would be great for a back up, since I will have two on bottles. All the online places I've found are out of stock until 2012.

Umm, it's a bottle holder. I hand feed my infants, however, I want to be prepared incase I have both of them wanting a bottle at the same time.

I didn't mean to sound stupid, I really didnt understand though. Are you saying it's to prop up a bottle? I have three infants at any given time. Usually within 3-4 weeks age. And I've never seen the need to prop a bottle. I didn't even know 1. They were actual items people bought or 2. That people actually still propped bottles.
It's actually against my state regs.
So have you used this before? And how do your parents feel about you propping their bottles?

When I reread this it sounds witchy and judgmental. That's not my intention. I seriously am curious.

Please don't get upset...but it is against Arkansas regs, too. Infants must be held for feeding until at least 6 months or until they can safely hold their own.

I routinely keep 3 newborns/infants at a time and to cope I stagger their bottles.

I have the DCM's stagger their morning feedings to make it possible. They know it is a condition of enrollment here. My waiting list is REALLY long.

I bet when you tell them it is to make sure you CAN hold each infant for their feeding they are more than willing to work with you. The vast majority of moms like to know their infants are being held.

This is one of those times where it is really easy to get Moms on board.

              I don't think you did.

I am curious, too. Is it still a normal thing in places to prop bottles?

ok, sorry it got you guys so bent out of shape over it. I had seen it on tv on one of the multiple interviews. I have had more than one baby at a time before and no matter how hard you try to stagger things, it always happens taht two want to be feed at the same time on occasions.

As for Arkansas requlations, I am unlicensed by choice, so it does not apply to me. As for the parents, one of the Mom's mentioned to me that she propped her child at times. The baby was 3 mos and the time, and I had never propped the child.

I think I'll go back to just lurking for info. It seems like almost everytime I ask a question, it upsets someone.

Mods you are welcome to remove this thread if you like.

Hun, I am not upset...just curious. Really.

Here it is a huge taboo. It is all I have ever known....

I really have not heard of people still doing it.

I am not trying to be confrontational....it may be a regional/cultural thing.

Thanks for that Catherder. I simply wanted it as a BACK UP, NOT for daily use. It just seems that everything I have posted recently has created a problem for someone. I'm just tired of it. I'm a very easy going person in Real Life and would NOT do/say anything to hurt anyone.

I have ask for the thread to be removed if that is possible.

Sandee I really didn't aim to upset you. I get the feeling you thought I attacked you, I don't even pay attention to screennames when reading usually so if you think I'm trying to upset you, you are flat wrong. . And just because you dont HAVE to follow regs, doesnt mean you shouldnt alot of regs are there for good reason

I honestly don't have an issue with Ever needing to prop. If I have one that fusses a bit then so be it. I'd rather they be a bit fussy than to lose the physical bonding that feeding allows. The smiles, the warmth of my touch as I stroke their head. I don't wait until a baby is starving to feed them so when they miss their feed by a few minutes it's ok. I'm really into their body cues though, I don't think my parents would appreciate me not holding them to feed. They pay me very well to be there when they can't and that means holding to feed. But that's my client base, I guess your is different. Although I couldn't imagine if any told me they propped, if it ever happened I would have to give them my thoughts on the whole idea. I do know eBay has some kind of holder. I stumbled upon it looking for something a few years ago. Not like the one you showed but same idea.

I frequently have 2 infants in care, usually around the same age. In the past, in a pinch if need be I have placed both them in their infant seats and fed them their bottles at the same time. Not ideal, but works if you need it, and atleast they still get face time while you are feeding them. I have also sat on the floor with one propped on each leg, though that doesn't work nearly as well. If you can't find what you are looking for, maybe one of these ideas will help.

I had 2 infants the same age a few months ago and they always wanted to eat at the same time. Thankfully my sister was here so she would feed one while I fed the other. I am licensed and cannot prop bottles.

Did you try contacting the manufacture? did you check craigslist or amazon for the bottle prop?

                              Used it...loved it

Ok..I have twins(now my babies are 16) and I have used a device like that and I LOVED it..I have even propped bottles for my daycare babies when needed...I don't do it a lot but when it is necessary I do it and don't think twice about it. I say if the parents are ok with it and the baby is within eye sight then it would be a good tool to have..better than a hungry crying baby!
