Tom/Michael....Meal Allowance 2011 - MMK vs Turbo Tax (TT)

This is for states outside of Hawaii and Alaska....

2011 MMK and 2011 IRS gov docs indicate the following: $1.19/$2.22/$0.66 for Breakfast/Lunch & Dinner/Snack. No big surprise

    2011 (TT) indicates the following: $1.24 $2.32 $0.69 Breakfast/Lunch & Dinner/Snack

I've seen a couple of other tax websites using the newer and higher rates for 2011. Small difference but using TT rates my meal costs come out $121 higher than MMK/gov docs

Anyone concerned in using the higher rates?

I, too, was wondering. Just found a post by Mr. Copeland dated 7-21-11 that says the higher rates you listed are to be used for 2012. The lower rates (B=$1.19, L/D=$2.22, S=$.66) are to be used for 2011.

The MMK rates are correct. The higher rates are for 2012.

thank you...seemed a bit odd that the IRS docs would indicate one thing and turbo tax would give another higher rate....very misleading
